THE PICK OF THE LITTER

SAFETY


HEAD OF THE CLASS: Thomas Davis, Georgia. Played outside linebacker in college and will need to work on his pass defense in the NFL, but he's a great athlete and terrific hitter. He might not play right away, but he could play for a long time.


BEST OF THE REST: Ernest Shazor, Michigan; James Butler, Georgia Tech; Brodney Pool, Oklahoma; Donte Nicholson, Oklahoma; Sean Considine, Iowa.


FORMER JACKET ALFRED MALONE

Sleeper: Alfred Malone, Troy State: Transferred from Georgia Tech for his final season after being declared academically ineligible.
