Hoops Recruiting

Paul Hewitt was in Fayettville Arkansas this weekend, watching the "Real Deal on the Hill". He attended one game that featured Javaris Crittenton's Atlanta Celtics face the Playaz program, featuring Wayne Ellington, Gerald Henderson, Earl Clark and others. Javaris had a standout game with 25 points and 10 assists, but his team lost. The real questions around his game are his outside shot. Of course that was the knock with Jarrett Jack, and we know how that has turned out.

The night before, another potential GT target, local PG/SG Jodie Meeks, hit what looked like the game-winning 3-pt shot for his Georgia Hurricanes. It appeared he was fouled on the play. Not only did they NOT call a foul, but they ruled it a two point shot, leaving the Hurricanes 1 point away from the tie. Meeks scored 24 points. This was Meeks' first game with his new AAU team. Interestingly, Meeks is a guy that plays both the PG and SG spots well, and while Jacket fans salivate over the Tywon Lawson's and Javaris Crittenton's of the world, this kid in our own backyard is not one to overlook.
