Matt Kuchar was granted the final sponsor exemption to play in this week's MCI Heritage.
Matt Kuchar, a former Georgia Tech standout who won the 1997 U.S. Amateur following three consecutive victories by Tiger Woods, has been granted the final sponsors exemption to play in this week's 37th annual MCI Heritage.
Kuchar was the Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Year and was voted the Fred Haskins Award winner in 1998 as the top college player of the season.
After turning pro, Kuchar went on to win the Honda Classic in 2002, which gave him a two-year exemption. He won better than $500,000 last year, just missing his card. Kuchar is making his third appearance in the MCI Heritage.
