I'm Back

Well, it's been a crazy week, and now I'm smack dab on the west coast - in Los Angeles, for a guy weekend with some old Tech buddies. We just got back from an LA Dodger game. In fact, if you watch Sportscenter, you will see JD Drew hit an HR that a fan reaches out and grabs Matt Holliday. Well, I'm standing 2 rows behind the guy to the left. I made Sportscenter!!!

Enough of that. Let me give you a few updates:

HOOPS
Bigman Theo Davis picks Iowa State.......... Remember losing CJ Miles to a recruiting battle with Texas? Well, he has now entered his name into the NBA Draft. How about that?........ Javaris Crittenton does have Georgia Tech in his new top 5.

BEESBALL
Jackets take down Clemson in a real pitching duel 18-14....

FOOTBALL
Here are all the free agent signing details from the NFL draft........ Looks like there will be a 12th game coming to a season near you....... Well, in the police blotter, our old WR Kelly Campbell is up to his tricks again. Nothing like drug and weapons charges to start the day....... Fox Sports has the Jackets optimistically ranked #16 in the nation pre-season:

Chan Gailey's fourth year in Atlanta should be one to remember as one of the nation's best defenses gets ten starters back from the Champs Sports Bowl winner. Tackle is the biggest issue on offense, but the skill players will be outstanding as WR Calvin Johnson is poised for an All-America caliber season as long as QB Reggie Ball can be more consistent. There are too many good running backs to backup P.J. Daniels.
