Football: Spurrier wants a piece of GT

That's right - he wants that 12th game, and he wants to create a little rivalry with the Jackets:

Spurrier also said he was in favor of the NCAA adding a 12th regular-season game. If the legislation passes, the former Duke coach would like to see USC schedule North Carolina for a home-and-home series. Spurrier also mentioned Georgia Tech and N.C. State as attractive, nonconference opponents.

I like this quote about SC vs FL:

"This is new territory for me. We never worried too much about a bowl game," said Spurrier, whose Florida teams averaged 10 wins a year and missed a bowl game only in 1990 when the school was on NCAA probation.

"That'll be one of our goals to qualify and go to a bowl game," he said. "Hopefully, we won’t be a team that every year that will be our biggest thrill is to win six games."
