Interesting interview. This was interesting when asked about game prep:
Q. When you look at the ACC and the preseason polls, it's almost like when you reach the conference schedule, you're going to be playing college basketball's greatest hits. Does it feel that way? People outside the ACC say, `Oh yeah, sure,' when I say this but I'm getting used to it.
My first year, we had a bunch of teams in the top 10 and two in the Final Four. My second year, Duke won the championship. My third year Maryland won the championship.
You get used to it. You kinda get numb to it.
The biggest change I've noticed in myself in coaching is I rely less and less on scouting reports. I used to have three-day scouting reports, now I'm down to a day or a day and a half. I really focus on what we have to do well. You can't adapt to all the outstanding coaches and outstanding players.
