Wilkinson Never Gave Up on His Dream...

...to bee a Jacket. Story here.

It’s of his young son Gerris pointing out the bee.
And of the father, after pulling over to get the bee out of the car, realizing that his young son was pointing to the Yellow Jacket on the sign, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jacket on the marquee on the side of the road.
It’s of the young son, after being told what the bee was a symbol of, declaring that day that he would attend that school. And of the father, after buying the son a hat with the bee on it, remembering that statement for years even as his son moved to the other side of the country.
“I kept that in the back of my mind,” Greg Wilkinson said. “Every summer he came out, I would take him past that sign to hopefully keep that in the back of his mind.”
