Jackets Appear Boise Bound

Macon Telegraph article:

But MPC Computers Bowl executive director Gary Beck sounded resigned to taking the Yellow Jackets on Monday afternoon. The general lack of extra bowl eligible teams from major conferences is working against Tech, leaving the bowl without many attractive options in a switch.

"I don't know if there's a team the quality of Georgia Tech available now. We'd probably be more apt to invite Georgia Tech back," Beck said. "We'd be more than happy to have Georgia Tech here."

Tech athletics director Dave Braine said the Yellow Jackets would accept an invitation from Boise. He also said he wouldn't be opposed to going to another bowl if something could be worked out.

"All bowls participating would have to accept it. It probably would be a good chance that we might end up in Boise," he said, before the Tigers' decision. "A bowl is a bowl. Our kids had a great time in Boise last year."
