Thanks to Chad for the link. This guy is considered one of the top fullback prospects in the nation - Kalvin Bailey. He says he has narrowed his choices down to GT and Nebraska and said the reason is that both are recruiting him as a tailback.
Well Friday night he had a nice little game.
More than special, Bailey was unstoppable in the second half. Down after down he carried the ball, 5 yards, 7 yards a carry, often with three defensive players draped over him. Only a handful of his 35 carries didn't involve a defender hitting him at the line of scrimmage, and those all went for better than 15 yards. Only three times did Bailey get stopped for no gain, including one fumble on his second carry.
By the way, Beck is Harrison Beck, who was the QB for the other team and a guy who has committed to Nebraska. Looks like we have our work cut out for us in recruiting.
Bailey said after the game that he wouldn't make a decision on college until after the season. He said, though, that Beck at quarterback and him at tailback would be "interesting."
"If everything works out, I'll be up there with Harrison," Bailey said.
Beck was impressed with Bailey.
"He's a big dude," Beck said. "I'm trying to get him to go to Nebraska. The big guy wore us out."
