Story here.
Georgia Tech receiver Calvin Johnson continues to make jaws drop in his freshman season. Last week at N.C. State, he made an almost ridiculous one-handed catch of a pass that seemed a few feet behind him.
"I still am amazed, and I have seen it several times," Gailey said of the play that helped sustain the Yellow Jackets' go-ahead touchdown drive. "It was a great catch."
Johnson, a matchup nightmare at 6-foot-4, is making plays a freshman just isn't supposed to make. And he's making a legitimate case for first-team All-ACC in the process. He has six touchdown catches - tied with Miami's Roscoe Parrish for most in the ACC - and his 61.6 receiving yards per game ranks third behind Clemson's Airese Currie (86.3) and Florida State's Chauncey Stovall (61.9).
If Johnson had a better quarterback -- Reggie Ball already has an ACC-high 15 interceptions -- his numbers might be the best in the league.
