BEAMER NOT HAPPY WITH HOKIE ANTICS
Quote:

Hokies coach Frank Beamer wasn’t happy about his team’s six personal fouls against Georgia Tech, including the ejection of linebacker James Griffin.

“That’s not us,” Beamer said. “It doesn’t help you win. ... When you’re pushing, shoving, talking, dancing after the whistle, it doesn’t help us. I want us to get back in the huddle and get ready to play the next down.”

So Beamer has pulled an old page out of his playbook. Early in his career, he made players run 100 yards for each yard of a penalty they incurred, no matter what the penalty was. This time, the policy will only apply to serious offenders.

Today at 6 a.m., players who were flagged for things that happened after the whistle will meet Beamer at the practice field to run 100 yards for every yard they were flagged. Such punishment will continue for the rest of the season. “I want them to know exactly what the rules are,” Beamer said. “And if you break them, we’ll see you Wednesday morning.”
More on the issue.
