Competing for fans in ATL

Interesting comment from Rich McKay, the prez and GM of the Falcons:

"When I first came here, a writer told me it was a tough place for the Falcons because they were second to Georgia football and maybe even third behind Georgia Tech -- and with the Braves as the runaway favorite," McKay said. "I told him when I started in Tampa that Florida was No. 1, Florida State was No. 2, Miami No. 3, the memory of the [USFL Tampa Bay] Bandits No. 4 and that Hillsborough High might have been in front of us. The Bucs were like 50th. That was reality.

"But if you win and win the right way -- and with the right people -- all that will change."

And Rich McKay is fine with that.
