FEELING THE NEED FOR SPEED
Jackets just too fast for UConn. It's funny, Coach Edsell is saying all the same things about GT that Coach Gailey says about Miami. I guess no matter how fast you are, somewhere someone is faster.

“We didn't execute well enough and (Georgia Tech) was the reason why,” UConn coach Randy Edsall said. “Right now, if you look at the two programs in terms of where we are and where they are, it's no contest in terms of speed and athletic ability.

“They're a very good football team, but an outstanding one defensively. If you play the kind of defense they play, your offense doesn't have to do much for you.”

“It's probably the worst thing that can happen as an offensive lineman,” senior guard Brian Markowski said. “You don't want to see a runner getting hit in the backfield and not getting out there ... it's pretty frustrating.

“But (Georgia Tech) is one of the fastest lines we've ever played. They were very, very good and you have to give them credit.”

HUSKIES BURNED
More of the Jacket speed. From the UConn QB:
"We pretty much got our tails kicked," said Orlovsky, who went 28-for-49 for 205 yards. "They have so much defensive speed. It's ACC football. They breed speed down here."
