"Ross has Cadets Standing Tall". Nice article, and glowing comments from Sylvester Croom:
"First off, you have to respect Bobby Ross as a man," said Mississippi State coach Sylvester Croom, who served as Ross' running backs coach in San Diego (1992-96) and offensive coordinator in Detroit (1997-2000). "He just cares about people so much. As a coach, nobody in the business works harder. I coached and played for Bear Bryant [at Alabama]. I never thought I would have the same feelings for anyone else, but I do for Bobby Ross."
Here is another article about Army and Ross:
Bobby Ross, Army's first-year coach, has never seen longer odds. Not as an assistant at William and Mary and Virginia Military Institute. Not as a college head coach at The Citadel, Maryland and Georgia Tech. Not as an NFL head coach with the San Diego Chargers and Detroit Lions.
"I've never gone into a season where I thought we were overmatched in as many games as we have been this year," says Ross, whose 1990 Georgia Tech team shared the national championship. "We're small, and we're not real fast. It's a little bit like ... hitting your head into a wall."
