Coach Gailey takes a page from Coach Hewitt

Remember when Hewitt felt Luke was getting roughed up unfairly and not getting calls his way? He made it known to the league and to the officials..... and it helped.

Well, Coach Gailey is now doing the same thing to stick up for Calvin Johnson, who he feels is being held and grabbed (along with our other receivers). Story here.

So Tuesday, Gailey did something about it. He sent highlights - or "lowlights" as he said - of the Yellow Jackets' game against North Carolina State to the Atlantic Coast Conference office. He highlighted plays where he felt his receivers were being held and grabbed.

"During the course of a play I can see what happened and what did or didn't get called," Gailey said. "I want to make sure I bring that to their attention."
This past week I have seen two things I like from Coach Gailey:
1. Getting emotional at halftime of the NCST game. He's a passionate guy about football but sometimes he just seems TOO calm and poised. I was glad to see some fire in the belly. Maybe the players see that side of him more often and we are just not exposed to it. Either way, I was glad to see it.
2. Sticking up for his players like this. It is good to see him defending things that do not seem right. Way to go Coach.

Also note in that same article, Reggie Ball fights back a little bit about his "sophomore slump":
"This Reggie Ball stuff is getting out of hand. It's all about Georgia Tech right now. No matter what Reggie Ball does, no matter what Calvin Johnson does, it's all about Georgia Tech. Kind of stay off me for a minute, please," Ball said.

Typically outgoing and joking with the media, Ball politely answered questions after practice, but asked that they be team-oriented.

"This is not a one-individual team. That individual stuff needs to be cut out for a minute," he said. "It's getting old."
Way to go Reggie.

Also note that PJ Daniels had minor arthroscopic surgury last week and is doubtful for the UConn. Isn't medicine amazing. The kid had a minor surgury and there is still a small chance he could play
