Tommy Hammonds Jr.

More on Senior's son, who will be playing at East Carolina. Story here.

Hammonds, the son of former Georgia Tech All-American and NBA veteran Tom Hammonds, averaged 11.6 points per game this past season for Montrose Christian School in Rockville, Md. He led the Mustangs to a 25-4 overall record and a National Association of Christian Schools championship, netting 24 points in the title game. Hammonds earned all-state honorable mention honors at Crestview High in Crestview, Fla., before transferring to Montrose, where he played under renowned high school coach Stu Vetter, who has coached such great players as Dennis Scott, Randolph Childress and George Lynch.

"He comes from very good blood lines," said Herrion. "We're getting a kid with good size, strength and athletic ability. He comes from a good program and that's another thing we liked about him."
