Jackets Swept..........Again

What is the easiest way to lose? Have the same number of hits as errors.

I hate to say it, but I don't like this pattern. This team is more up and down than the Magic Mountain ride. Either everyone on the team is hitting, or nobody on the team is hitting. No in-between. I don't think we had more than 4 hits today, and only one through 7 innings. And 4 errors, wow. This of the "best fielding team in GT history". Have to give A.Kown credit. He came to play and did. Pitched a nice game. But the bats disappeared, bringing back that familiar pattern.

I don't want to say UGAg has more heart, more desire, etc, etc. They won the game and they move on. Our guys can now all focus on their draft status. It is pretty sad that 10 guys drafted can't at least get to Omaha, on their home field. At least put up a fight and win one game. But I guess that's baseball.

So where does GT beesball go from here? It's interesting, because Coach Hall has proven his ability to bring in a top 5 recruiting class just about every year. Another great one is on its way for next season. But talent is a part of the equation - and coaching is another - and execution is another. The execution wasn't there, and how much of that do you lay at the Coach's feet?

At the end of the day, we have to remember that GT won the ACC regular season by snapping off 20 wins in a row. The end of the season is a bit disappointing, but the season overall was a good one. Best of luck to all the players who will part company. You will always be a YellowJacket. We wish you success. To those returning, bring back some fire for next season.

One thing about baseball - when spring rolls around, there is always optimism. Anything can happen.
