Don't ask me why I decided to accept the invitation to participate in the College Football Blog Poll. It's not like I care that much about polls, and it's not like I need another thing to spend 10 minutes a week on. But here I am.
What is the Blog Poll? Well, read here to get the 411. It's basically a bunch of bloggers voting each week for a top 25. Here's my initial ballot:
| Rank | Team | Delta |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Southern Cal | |
| 2 | Florida | |
| 3 | Georgia | |
| 4 | Oklahoma | |
| 5 | Ohio State | |
| 6 | LSU | |
| 7 | Clemson | |
| 8 | West Virginia | |
| 9 | Texas | |
| 10 | Kansas | |
| 11 | Auburn | |
| 12 | Missouri | |
| 13 | Wisconsin | |
| 14 | Virginia Tech | |
| 15 | Texas Tech | |
| 16 | Tennessee | |
| 17 | Wake Forest | |
| 18 | Illinois | |
| 19 | South Florida | |
| 20 | Oregon | |
| 21 | Arizona State | |
| 22 | Brigham Young | |
| 23 | Michigan | |
| 24 | Florida State | |
| 25 | Georgia Tech | |
Dropped Out:
Key Points:
- Yes, blatant homerism with Georgia Tech at #25, but hey, Playboy thinks we're #25 also, and obviously they know a lot about spread options.
- Georgia gets in the top 5, but I'm not sure they'll be able to get into the title game after losing Thanksgiving weekend :-)
- Who cares about the rest? It's silly to do this in week 0 anyway.
