Well, I came back a little after my horrific picking last week. I'm back up to 33rd in the standings. However, like many, I need a serious run to climb my way back to the top 10.

Well, after 4 weeks of picks, things are starting to shake out a little bit, although the standings are still close enough for anyone to make a move. I've climbed up to #13 by hitting 10/12 games. I missed Miami and NCST's victories but hit the rest. So here are the standings for the top 20:

Congrats to GTKirk99 for his stellar picking and confidence point choices. VegasJacket is close behind, but these two guys have built a slight lead.

What it shows you is how important those confidence points become. If you get a game wrong, you don't want it to cost you more than 5 or 6 points, or you really start dropping in the standings. I'm 27-9 overall picking games, but I'm tied for 13th place out of 173 people total, with 200 points.

For example, this week there were 12 games, and I went 8-4. I got my points for #12, 11, 10, 8, 6, 5, 4. So I missed out on all my lowest three confidence picks (#1,2,3), in addition to #9 and #7. Overall, I'm 27-9, but there a lot of people who have a better record picking games (like "SimpleGT" who is also 27-9, but finds himself in 133rd place with only 170 points).

I've locked the games in for this week, although they're not available yet for picking. In addition to the ACC slate and UGAg, I added Bama/Ark, Fl/Tenn and LSU/Auburn. I thought about Navy/Rutgers, but decided 12 games was enough.

College Pick'em Week 1 Results

Well, week one is in the books and one Jacket fan stands out among the rest - theGTgent. With 76 points and an 11-1 record picking, theGTgent leads the pack. However, there are a bunch of folks not far behind, including yours truly.

I've set the matchups for week 2, going as always with every ACC game, the UGAg, and I've added the USF / UCF match-up. George O'Leary tries to knock off a ranked USF team.

Get your picks in for week 2 and let's see who's got game. Can theGTgent keep up the pace? Will someone else rise to the top?

Oh yeah, what's up with "Papa P", who managed to go 0-12. How does that happen? Even if you're trying to get them all wrong, that has to be just as hard as getting them all right, which nobody managed to do. That might be the most impressive pick sheet of all.

College Pick-em - Almost at 100 Entrants

College Pick'em Challenge - GET PICKS IN NOW!!

I just created a Georgia Tech college pool over at www.funofficepools.com. Get bragging rights for your ability to pick games!!!!

Just head over, sign up, and get your picks in before Thursday night!!!! There will be between 10-15 games each week. The pool will run every week during college football season and you can view your standings against everyone else in the pool.

I've basically included all ACC games each week, as well as UGAg's matchup that week. We might also add an interesting game or two each week as well. In addition there is a weighting factor for each pick. The higher the confidence, the higher the number you assign (1-11 in week one). You have to assign one number to each game, and you'll get that many points if you get the game right. FYI - you're picking straight up, not against the spread.
