FINALLY: A CHANCE FOR WILLIAMS & WILLIAMS
No relation though.
HURRICANE LOOMS OVER ORANGE BOWL
We'll hear today about the reschedule. Will it impact the broadcast of the GT/Clemson game Saturday night? We'll see...... Here's more.
Saturday, Sept.11, appears the most likely replacement date. ABC Sports already has a full schedule for that day, but some tweaking of the schedule would be possible. Three games - Penn State-Boston College, Colorado State-Southern California and Clemson-Georgia Tech - are set for regional prime time coverage on ABC that night.
CLOSE TO THE VEST
On Eric Henderson:
This much we know: Eric Henderson, Georgia Tech's star defensive end, is doubtful for Saturday's opener against Samford. Good luck figuring out his injury, because head coach Chan Gailey isn't talking about it.
Gailey said it's his policy not to reveal injuries, but he did allow that it's "not a long-term situation."
"It could be one week, it could be three weeks," said Gailey, whose team visits Clemson next week. "He hasn't gotten better as fast as we would like."
WHERE ARE THEY NOW - ALFRED MALONE
He transferred from GT and now here he is:
Seventeen starters from last year's team and the addition of 6-foot-5, 308-pound defensive tackle Alfred Malone, who sat out 2003 after transferring from Georgia Tech, will come into Joan C. Edwards Stadium looking to topple the Herd.
Malone started 18 games in two season with the Yellowjackets and can only help a Trojan defense ranked 28th nationally (125.5 yards a game) last season in run defense
RECRUITING - STEPHAN VIRGIL
Mention of this athlete being recruited by GT
RECRUITING - TAYLOR RANK
Not on GT's list, but the son of a former GT WR.
WHERE ARE THEY NOW - DARYL SMITH
He will make his 2nd consecutive start in the pre-season for the Jags. Looks like he could be winning a permanent starting role. Congrats.
