Football Fix

NOTRE DAME'S DARIUS WALKER NAMED FRESHMAN OF WEEK
Give me A BREAK!!!!!! Are you kidding me???? Ok, Walker has 115 yards rushing, and 2 TD's. But come on, Johnson has 8 catches for 127 yards, 3 TD's, including the game-winner with 16 seconds, all 3 TD's spectacular catches.... and you are going to tell me Walker deserves the national honor. Oh well. Certainly interesting that 2 Georgia boys shined in the national spotlight on Saturday.

UNC DEFENSE STILL STRUGGLING
On last year's game and strategy this year:

"P.J. Daniels is awfully good," Bunting said. "We watched the game from last year, and we played well for three quarters, and then their running game wore us out in the fourth quarter."

One way to stop Daniels and Georgia Tech is to keep the ball away from them, and North Carolina has been good enough offensively to do just that. Darian Durant has completed 64 percent of his passes for 362 yards, and the Tar Heels have averaged nearly 6 yards a carry from their backfield, best in the ACC.

BUNTING QUOTES

RECENT GT HISTORY - DON'T EXPECT VICTORY

MORE ON RECENT HISTORY...
...with a few quotes from Reggie Ball.
Quarterback Reggie Ball believes the team will be ready for the Tar Heels.

"I think we are a lot more prepared this year because we got a lot of players left over from last year," Ball said.

"I'm ready for North Carolina," he said. "I'm ready to go up there and try to get to 3-and-0, then get off a week."

Q&A WITH UNC'S RONNIE MCGILL
Check out his quotes on K-Fox and D-Smith, our LB core last season:
Ronnie, what are your memories of the Georgia Tech game last year?
“Those two linebackers (Keyaron Fox and Daryl Smith) that have graduated. ... They were very fast. They blitz a lot, and they’re going to blitz a lot more from what I understand because they did lose those two. But those two made a lot of plays last year.”

It just seemed like everywhere you went, that’s where they were too?
“Yes, they played the line real well, and, I mean, they were athletic linebackers. They watch you, and when you take a step, they’re right there with you.”
