Golf: UGA / GT 1-2

Well, the Bulldogs and Jackets are in 1st and 2nd place, respectively. The Jackets gained 2 strokes on the Dawgs and are currently in sole possesion of 2nd place, still 9 strokes back. Tennessee fell of the face of the earth today, after being in 2nd place, they are now not even going to make the cut, going +33 on the day. It is obviously a tough day on the course, as the Jackets ended +15 on the day and the Dawgs +17. Of all the teams done for the day, those are the best two scores..... Here the the Jacket individual scores....

Meanwhile, some stories from yesterday's action:

Here's a blurb on Cameron Tringale, an incoming recruit for next golf season.... He lost the ScCal golf Championship by one stroke.

Tringale, who has signed with Georgia Tech, qualified for the state championships for the second consecutive year.

"It's nice getting through," he said. "It means I get to miss more school."

Meanwhile, a former Jacket golfer, Michael Clark II, is playing on the Nationwide Tour............ We'll hear this weekend if Nicholas Thompson wins the Byron Nelson award:

Georgia Tech's Nick Thompson (Coral Springs) is one of five finalists for the Byron Nelson award, which recognizes academics and character in addition to on-course performance. The winner will be announced at this weekend's NCAA tournament.
