Golf: Tech team 12th after day 1

Roberto Castro shoots a 69 to pace the Jackets, but they are 12th after day 1, with a combined 8 over par. Georgia leads the field at 6 under, with Tennesse at 1 under. The rest of the field was over par. All 4 other teams from the state of Georgia are currently ahead of the Jackets. But it's still early. A lot of golf to play............ In addition, the Golf Coaches Association of America released its All-Region teams Tuesday, and Castro, Song and Thompson all were named to the All-South team.
