Hoops - A little on Elon

A little about Elon from the Macon Telegraph:

About Elon: The Phoenix are coming off one of the best seasons in school history. They won the Southern Conference North Division title, the first SoCon trophy in any sport and the first conference title for a men's basketball team since 1974. Elon's 15 wins were the most since it moved to Division I in 1999-2000 and it had its first winning season since 1996-97. Elon got its biggest win since jumped with a road win over Clemson, which was 11-1 at the time. ... Junior forward Chris Chalko (6-foot-8, 220 pounds) is the leading returning scorer with 12.6 points per game. He nabbed all-conference honors last year. Chalko scored 16 points in last season's 81-69 loss to the Jackets. ... The Phoenix must replace Scottie Rice and Jackson Atoyebi, both of which broke the 1,000-point plateau last season. ... Elon head coach Ernie Nestor won 68 games in a five-year stint as the head coach at George Mason from 1988-1993 that included a trip to the NCAA tournament in 1989. ... Elon beat Guilford College, 62-56, in an exhibition game last week. ... Georgia Tech play-by-play announcer Wes Durham is an Elon graduate.

Also, here's a good overview of Elon.
