Evidently Stephon was not that impressed with the crowd noise in their tight victory over Greece, even though others DID seem to be impressed. Here he says it was louder in Sacramento - link here.
''In Sacramento, it's way louder than this,'' said U.S. guard Stephon Marbury. ''And I think the way we played showed our character.''
Evidently he was even more sarcastic than that - link here:
And the U.S. team didn't have to search to find the meaning of the Olympics to the people of Greece. A boisterous overflow crowd of more than 12,000 fans waved blue and white flags and derided the Americans at every turn, even starting a chant of "Puerto Rico!" in the second half.
Asked if he had ever played in a more hostile environment, former Georgia Tech point guard Stephon Marbury said, "Clemson."
This guy over at the NCST site thinks ACC players would make this team better. I don't know. Again, they need people who gel together, who have complementary skills, not overlapping ones.
