Well, the media is really starting to look at football, and why not. Practices start this week, players report - excitement is in the air.
Here, the AJC looks at 10 key questions for the Jackets to have a successful season. I think they hit on the key areas - QB, O-Line, LB, WR, etc.
Here, the AJC looks at the fact that some schools have very different start times for their practice schedules, like GT who begins this Thursday, while UGAg starts Monday.
Thanks to Bornajacket over at one of the acc boards for this link from Southern Pigskin, which highlights the fact that the "Techs" - VaTech and GaTech, seem to be the forgotten teams in the ACC race.
A pair of college football heavyweights who have seemingly caught the shaft both regionally and nationally in the pre-season hype, projections and predictions: Virginia Tech and Georgia Tech.
And a nice wrap-up to the GT preview:
Fans are quick to point out Georgia Tech’s glaring inconsistencies from 2003. While their argument is a plausible one, what caused such unpredictability will be what calms that same turmoil in 2004. Give youth and inexperience one year of seasoning and it becomes the antithesis of what it once was.
Upon closer look, Georgia Tech has the makings of a team poised for a run at contention. The team has a playmaker at quarterback, a 1,000-yard rusher behind him, is strong in the trenches, and has true senior leaders in the likes of tackle Kyle Wallace, receiver Nate Curry and safety James Butler. While the ACC has been the beneficiary of much attention and propaganda, the Jackets seem to have been lost along the way. Despite a solid resume, people are hesitant to remember, quick to forget about a team that has been a an ACC fixture for years.
