HEAVY DUTY
Rana Cash - AJC
Mansfield Wrotto is the best name on the GT football team. I know I-Perfection Harris won the nationwide honors from SI, but really - Mansfield Wrotto - that sounds like a villain out of a comic book. Evidently size is no longer his #1 attribute - speed is at the top of the list. This is the type of development that we need to improve this team. Each guy at each position improving each season........ On a side note, Sporting News named Wrotte one of the top 5 running stuffing defensive tackles.
ADJUSTMENTS FOR GAILEY RE: REDSHIRTS
Mike Knobler - AJC
Coach does not have the luxury to redshirt kids like he wants to. With depth a real issue, trial by fire is the order of the day at many positions. Luckily this season it will probably happen just due to pure talent (like C.Johnson) and not because there isn't a choice.... Good to see freshman Darrell Robertson having an impact early.
FRESHMAN LOOKING TO MAKE IMPACT
Brian Murphy - Macon Telegraph
More on the freshman class - and there is much more than just Calvin Johnson, who gets most of the hype..... Good to see a lot of the minor injuries decreasing.
TRANSFER RILES JOINS THE TEAM
RamblinWreck.com
Wayne Riles is now practicing with the team. Reading his bio makes you realize he is just an all-around athlete. Never hurts to have guys like that on the team.
BALL SEES RESULTS IN ALTERED MOTION
Adam Van Brimmer - Savannah Morning News
Well, I hope the change in arm motion will improve the long pass. We all know they had a tendency to sail on him. Just off the top of my head I remember 3-4 TD passes that should have been completed. It's great to see the focus and passion for improvement by Reggie.
WHERE ARE THEY NOW - JOE HAMILTON
Nice story on Joe - link here....... Here's another story on Joe, highlighting that he hasn't made the team yet and still has a lot to prove - link here.
