Hoops Coaches to Offer Recruiting Ideas

Twenty coaches will meet in Chicago next week to discuss with Myles Brand - the NCAA Prez - new ideas to make the recruiting process better. Story here. An athlete's advisory council has recommended allowing players to transfer without penalty, like sitting out a year. What was Herb Sendek's response -

Madison Memorial boys basketball standout Wesley Matthews, watching the Spartans' girls soccer team play Janesville Craig last week, said the broken left thumb he suffered during Memorial's run to the WIAA Division 1 state title game has healed and he is ready to begin the Amateur Athletic Union circuit later this month with the Friends of Hoop team out of Milwaukee. He confirmed that Georgia Tech has joined the University of Wisconsin and Marquette as the schools to have made him scholarship offers.
