Beesball - Fall Ball

The Jackets have added a couple of guys to the roster. This from beesball.com:

Michael Hutts, a 6-foot-3 left-hander from Dunwoody has joined the Tech program. Hutts earned All-Gwinnett County honors last season while pitching for the Norcross-based Wesleyan School. He played for the Atlanta Blue Jays this past summer....Ryan Tinkoff, a switch-hitting infielder from Alpharetta, has also been added to the roster. Tinkoff, who graduated early from Centennial High School, hit .475 with nine doubles and 14 stolen bases to earn second team All-Area honors from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution in 2005....Walk-on RHP Sean Devine has also joined the squad for Fall practice. Devine was a second-team All-Cobb County selection by the Marietta Daily Journal as a senior at North Cobb High School.

You need to make sure you check out the beesball site often. It is THE authority on the great................ In addition, it's fall ball scrimmage time, and here are some notes:

1. The pitching staff is going to be deep and the spring battle for starting jobs should be interesting.
2. Wes Hodges is poised to be the marquee guy on the team this season. BaseballAmerica lists him as the #7 prospect in the upcoming draft.
3. Think about this for a second. The ACC regular season champions, ACC tourney champions - as we return every starter except Tyler Greene at shortstop. Add to that losing NO juniors and NONE of the top 10 recruiting class to the minor leagues, even though a couple of guys were drafted. WOW.
4. Matt Murton's little brother Luke, a freshman on this year's squad, made some noise in the fall games. Can they find room for him in the line-up? That's one question.
