Former Jonesboro High School and Georgia Tech standout Jason Perry didn't let getting demoted from Double-AA to Class A wreck his confidence.

Perry, who plays professional baseball in the Oakland Athletics organization, has made the most of his opportunity with the Modesto Athletics since getting reassigned to the squad from Class AA Midland.

In 31 games, Perry has turned into one of Modesto's leading hitters, batting .378 with 10 home runs and 36 RBIs.

Last week in a game against Visalia, Perry hit a solo home run and a grand slam in the same inning to help spark a nine-run Modesto rally.
