1987 was my freshman year at GT. I remember Ingram. Quite the athlete. Nice article here on him from a Ft.Myers paper (thanks to "theFog" at the Hive for the link). Ingram just got his shot at managing the Minnesota Twin's Gulf Coast league team. Down the ladder for sure, but hopefully a stepping stone to greater things.
His adult life began at Georgia Tech, where he was one of the best athletes in school history. He was a preseason All-American safety for the football team and hit .426 for the 1987 Tech baseball team. He was the 1987 Atlantic Coast Conference Athlete of the Year.
His next stop was pro baseball. Ingram reached the majors briefly in parts of the 1994 and 1995 seasons, hitting .217 in 12 games for the ’94 Detroit Tigers and .125 in four games for the ’95 Minnesota Twins.
