Football Recruiting - Jackets Land a Linebacker

The Jackets just received another commitment from Georgia LB Kyle Jackson. Here are some facts:

- 6'0" 225lb
- 4.65-40.... 4.43 shuttle..... 11.2-100m
- 3.4 GPA (22 ACT)
- had offers from Miss.St, Wake Forest, UCF, Ball State. Also had interest from Clemson, FL, AL, Stanford and Notre Dame.
- all region 4-5A / all-legue, all-county (McDonough GA)
- just got the offer from GT today and accepted on the spot
- As a junior he had 110 tackets, 28 for a loss, 12 pass break-ups, 17 QB pressures, 6.5 sacks, 2 INTs, 7 forced fumbles and 4 fumble recoveries.
- he has really come on strong in recent camps
- Neither Scout.com nor Rivals.com has evaluated Jackson at this point. However, when Rivals.com updates their GA state rankings, he will be in their top 50 players in the state.
- Plans to work hard recruiting other standout players to GT.

Bottom line is that Jackson seems like another excellent pick-up for the Jackets. The ball is rolling bigtime on recruiting. Again, the shame in all this is that Coach Gailey doesn't have the full 25 to offer. He might have been able to blow it out of the water with that. As it is, this class is shaping up to be his best if the quality continues.
