Brian Murphy Gets the Scoop

Well, Brian Murphy at the Macon Telegraph solved the riddle of the hoops floor being sold on ebay for a starting bid of $19,000. Obviously misleading, and here's the real story......

The ad on the site reads: "This basketball floor was played on at a major ACC college in Atlanta by conference greats in the 1980s and 1990s. Floor was replaced in 1999 and has been in storage since."

Not true, says Alex Donwen of Revell Flooring Company, the company that put in the original Coliseum floor and replaced it in 1995.

"We tore out the old floor before replacing it. We probably just threw away the old floor in a dumpster," Donwen said.

More than likely, according to Donwen, it's the floor the Yellow Jackets installed in The Omni for five games during the 1995-96 season.

Now that's what I call an investigative reporter. Good job Brian..
