Around the Hive

In football, learn what's up with all the "flunkgate" players. Certainly an interesting look at what happens to people's athletic careers when things don't pan out as hoped. Nice to see these guys are taking personal responsibility for what happened............. The BCS Folks are still pretty clueless.......

In beesball, here's the story on the win versus FSU, from a Seminole viewpoint......... Here's the good-guy version....... Tommy John surgury is common, even for high school kids, such as Chris Huseby, who was being recruited by Tech until the surgury.......... Meanwhile, former Tech player (who transferred to Tulane) Micah Owings talks about Georgia Tech (well, not really):

"The reason I left Georgia Tech is personal," he said. "I could talk about it all day. Let's just say I was in need of a change of scenery."

Jacksonville has set an ACC tourny record for attendence, breaking the record held by Greenville SC since 1992............ Here's the Div I Baseball Championship Handbook. Interesting reading.......... Here's the NCAA record book....... Make sure to watch ESPNNews today at 3:40, when the regional sites are announced for the big tourney.......

In hoops, BJ Elder will visit Pepsi Arena next week to work out for the Nuggets. He'll be there will Daniel Ewing, Salim Stoudamire and others................ Here's more on Dameon Mason, who is considering a transfer from Marquette to Georgia Tech (along with about 10 other schools)......

How's this for an athletic combo - hoops and shot-put. I guess there's a connection, and I imagine this girl (April Philips) has a nice set shot from half-court....
