Recruiting - the Notre Dame Impact

There is a possibility of recruiting fall-out from the Notre Dame situation since GT competes for a number of the same players (like last year's RB Darius Walker). Story here. One recruit has already de-committed and here's what his father had to say:

"We don't know what's going on, and apparently neither does Notre Dame,"
Wilson's father, Eugene, said late Tuesday night. "We're not going to be
committed to a program that's in a shambles."

Meanwhile, here is a WR recruit that we are both after:
One player who apparently has not heard from Notre Dame is Irmo, S.C. wide receiver Martin Frierson. He has, however, heard from Vanderbilt and Georgia Tech, according to Irmo coach Bob Hanna.

"He's kind of lost right now," Hanna said.

One of the top O-Line prospects in the country is Dan Doering. He actually had GT on his short list but eliminated us and Notre Dame is on his final list. Now he is going to wait until the new staff is in place:
The Doerings were supposed to meet with ND recruiting coordinator and defensive line coach Greg Mattison Wednesday night, but that meeting was canceled. Doering, who had heard from Willingham last week, has not eliminated Notre Dame. Any visit to Notre Dame would not likely come until January, presumably when a new staff is in place.

But until then, a cloud stuffed with unknowns hovers.

"It just creates some uncertainty," Rick Doering said, "as far as what's next for Notre Dame."
