Jarrett Jack is talking my language:
Georgia's upset of Georgia Tech last January ranked as the second most painful loss of the season for Yellow Jacket guard Jarrett Jack.
The stakes were higher in the only defeat that hurt worse: the national championship game.
"It was just a step behind how we felt after we lost to UConn," Jack said. "A lot of the guys have a sour taste in their mouths, so to speak, and we want to avenge that Georgia loss."
However, BJ Elder is NOT talking my language:
Even so, no one in the Yellow Jacket locker room will be surprised by a close game.
"It's never a shock when you play those guys," guard B.J. Elder said. "They're going to throw everything at us, and we know that."
Sorry, but I'm looking for a good ole fashion butt-whoopin. Time to open up a 6-pack.
Looking quickley at UGA's best player, a 6'10" freshman named Dave Bliss - story here.
Meanwhile, Jarrett Jack is the best Point Guard "nobody is talking about". Story here. I do agree with this 100%. Jack is highly underrated. However, I do find this manipulation of the media to be quite funny. Two years ago, Coach Hewitt said BJ Elder was the "best kept secret in the nation". So for the next 1.5 seasons every reference to Elder had "best kept secret" attached to it. The way I see it, Elder became the most talked about "secret" ever.
So now we'll hear talk about Jack and "underrated" will be in the same sentence 75% of the time. Of course Coach Hewitt's comments are meant to give attention to his talented players who have earned it. Jack HAS earned it. It's nice to see guys like Matt Doherty and Rick Majerus stick up for Jack and talk about him as one of the top PG's in the country. All the other humps will just have to jump on the bandwagon at a later date. But make no mistake - they will jump on. Because that's how lemmings operate.
