Mel's latest top 5 by position. Another name enters the top 5 at DT. How about that - 3 of our 4 defensive linemen in Kipers top 10, and of course the other guy (Derrick Morgan) is a true soph and likely to be there in a couple years.

When we are complaining about Chan Gailey, let's remember these guys he recruited. His regime was not what we wanted, but it was not all bad.
If Chan could have beaten UGA, he'd still be around. Those are the stakes in college.
It's too bad, but aside from never having beaten UGA, he was a downright good coach.
Unfortunately for Chan Gailey, winning rival games is everything in college, a bit like getting to the playoffs is everything in the pros.
I think it says a lot about a football program when our Draftee's are ranked a lot higher than our Recruits.

anybody who thinks chan gailey was a good coach..... needs to back away from the crack pipe.
stop apologizing for the guy who set our program back 7 years.
we went to second rate bowls an lost more than we won.
we never beat uga.
we never won the conference.
he was instramental in grade gate. if he had kept tabs on the players like a coach is supposed to it would never have happened.
he never developed a qb. i do believe that we played MORE QB's in the msu game than chan played during the entire time he was here.
his lax attitude towards discipline allowed mj gate to happen.
if i was a parent and my son was allowed to run rampant as players did under chan i would be furious. his job was twofold. put all his players in position to take advantage of the opportunity at gt so they GRADUATE. win footballs games.
he didnt do the first and he was mediocre at the second.
if i was reggie balls parents i would be furious too. chan let reggie ball run all ovre his a$$ for 4 years such that he didnt even graduate and it affected the team. ask joe anoi.
any head coach who would allow the kind of argueing amongst the assistants that we had at gt should have gotten a swift kick in the taint on his way out the door.
and we wont even talk about the other good ol boy that chan kept on his staff. buddy geis.
if anybody didnt notice half of the coaches on chan's staff were NOT rehired right away.
one guy even whined about fellow coaches not looking out for him because he is still unemployed.
maybe he just didnt get the job done.
if he had kept dave wilson on the staff like he wanted to we would still be recruiting the talent we started out with.
chan had nothing to do with recruiting. the current recruiting staff is who we should thank for the talent we have today. NOT CHAN!
if chan was such a nice guy he would never have kept the million dollar buyout.
sorry but you guys who keep saying chan gailey was a good coach are as bad as the folks who insist that W is a good president. those folks tend to handle snakes, speak in tongues, roll on the floor, and faint when touched. sheeeesh.
cpj is 10 times the coach chan gailey ever was.
matter of fact why did you bring up his name anyway. i could careless that i never ever even hear chan gailey's name again.
i am sure there is a ton of fans who feel the same way.
chan was a mediocre coach who played 'not to lose'.
anybody who reads fans comments and the comments from the team should be able to figure all the above out for themselves!
thank god chan was kicked to the curb.
Is that list just of seniors or all players?
That list is all draft eligible
Mel Kiper is a self-promoting know-nothing:
Kiper grew up in Baltimore, Maryland and resides in Jarrettsville, Maryland with his family. He attended Calvert Hall College High School and Essex Community College. He never participated in football on any level in high school or college.
Enough said.....
Walt Swenson
All Players?
i am not an espn insider but he had
quarterbacks from fresno state, sam houston, central arkansas ahead of Stafford...
He also had at least 5 guys ahead of Knowshon...
Thats all I could see but it sure seems like he is only counting seniors or those guys would be on the list
