Hoops - Ed Nelson banished to the end of the bench

Ed Nelson just lost his starting job - as the first big guy off the bench. Now's he's way down the list and didn't even play in UConn's latest game, for the first time in his career. Freshman Jeff Adrien has jumped him in the rotation. Jim Calhoun didn't mince words about Ed. Check it out:

"Ed works hard every day," Calhoun said. "Hilton is playing great and Josh is, in many ways, indispensible. Jeff, quite frankly, is more valuable to us. He's stronger, he jumps better, he can score in traffic. Ed can't score against any of the three of them. That does not mean he won't play. It means it's going to be more like 10 minutes, 12 minutes one night and the next night maybe not as much."

So I ask you - how do you feel about Ed Nelson now? Does the way he left Coach Hewitt high-and-dry still rub you the wrong way and he's "getting his" now? Personally, I am a man of forgiveness. I hate to see Ed's collegiate career end this way, but things happen for a reason. There are too many important things in life than to hold some type of grudge against a 22 year person I've never met. All the best Ed!!!
