Daily Swarm

BEESBALL TEAM STILL FINDING THEMSELVES
Well, today they lost to Rutgers after beating them on Friday. The team is now 7-5. You know what - I don't feel so bad about that. Like I said before, it has been typical for a Danny Hall team to start hot and cool off at the end of the year (probably too close to the Braves). Maybe this year we reverse the trend and find ourselves when it matters the most. Time will tell.

WHAT ROLE DO SHOE COMPANIES HAVE IN INFLUENCING RECRUITS
Can you believe crap like this - a shoe company having unseen influence on where a hoops recruit goes to school. At least Bosh wasn't influenced - he wore Adidas on his AAU team, NIKE's at GT and Converse in the NBA.

SENIOR DAY A GOOD ONE
A short article on the seniors and their day........... Here's a short story on Robert Brooks the renaissance man.

PICTURES FROM THE FSU GAME FROM THEGOOLEY
He already has his pictures up. Some good ones including a 4-shot sequence of Jack's baseline dunk and a nice shot of Luke leaving the floor high-fiving fans.............. Also, check out photo's from topfivephotos.com. Here's even more photos from the same guy - nice shots from senior night.

NICE STORY ON LUKE
Nice to see Furman Bisher with some good things to say. A nice story on Luke and his growth on the team.

GT NCAA TOURNEY POWER RANKINGS
Not sure the deal with these rankings but they appear to be one guy's attempt at giving GT's odds of beating each team that could make the dance.

LADY JACKETS BLOW BIG LEAD
The season is over for the lady jackets who blew many opportunities to put this game away. Congrats to Fallon Stokes for a great career at GT.

BUCK FREDRICK LEADS CALHOUN TO STATE TITLE
Well, Buck did it again. He led Calhoun County to victory tonight 72-51 in a romp over Lee Central. Fredrick finished with 29 points............. Lots of stories on Fredrick and his team as they prepare for the big game tonight. Check out this great story where he talks about Hewitt, Carolina and other topics. I didn't realize he was a Carolina blue guy. It will be a very interesting subplot in years to come, because both Fredrick AND Ra'Sean Dickey wanted to go to UNC. Evidently they expressed no interest in Fredrick and when Roy Williams came to town he dropped contact with Dickey. These two guys were AAU teammates, so they know each other well. That should make for interesting games with UNC in years to come..................... Nice story on Zam "Buck" Fredrick and his high intensity and competitiveness. No doubt this kid can be something special at GT. Tonight he plays his last game for Calhoun County - let's hope he goes out in style............ Here's the scouting report for the game........ Keep in mind that Buck has been on the varsity squad since 8th grade - 5 years in a row. This will be the 5th year in a row the Saints will play in the state championship game. Bottom line - this guy is a winner.......... Here are comments from a recent press conference - you can tell by the way he talks - very team oriented and very winning oriented.

THE ST.JOHN'S SAGA SHOULD BE ENDING SOON
Well the season is winding down for St.John's and hopefully things will not drag on long in their search for a new head coach, so we can all get on with life. The poor Redman alum have delusions of grandour that they have their pick of guys - they don't. Hewitt will be a YellowJacket next year - count on it.

BEATING DOOK RUINED A BUNCH OF ESPN'S PRE-GAME HYPE
If you watched any of the UNC/DOOK pre-game hype, there's no doubt that they would have preferred a victory. Not only did they have to drop all mention of UNC possibly ending Dook's 41 game home winning streak, they also did a profile with Kenny Maybe of the Cameron Crazies. They showed clips of Isma'il's dunk and the somber faces at the end. It was great!!! Not only that, Dickey V has already given GT some props during the UNC/Dook game early on. Love it.

AND THEN THERE WAS ONE
Washington beats Standford, so only St.Joseph's remains undefeated.

WHO IS COACH OF THE YEAR IN THE ACC
The concencus is that it will probably be between Paul Hewitt and Herb Sendek. While we are biased and want to see Hewitt take the honor, Sendek deserves it just as much. Either choice is a good one. Here are the Carolina fans thoughts.
