Daily Swarm

THE POLLS ARE OUT
GT doesn't fare too badly after the NC ST loss and Clemson win. We drop one spot in the AP to #19 and drop two spots in the coaches poll to #22. We are currently #24 in the RPI with a SOS of #21. We are #11 in the Sagarin Poll.

WHERE ARE THEY NOW - KRIS WILSON
Is now back with the KC Royals. He was a 9th round pick out of GT, where he actually had a football 'ship.

HEWITT TALKING UP THE DEVILS
Hewitt gives compliments to Duhon in this story about the PG. I guess that's better than giving bulletin board material.

THE WOMEN'S TRACK TEAM SEES DOUBLE
We have a pair of fast-running twins joining the ladies track team. Here's the story.

BEESBALL TEAM TRIES TO SHAKE OFF DA-FUNK VS AUBURN
After losing 3 straight and dropping to #13 in the polls, the Jackets try to get on the winning track again versus #9 Auburn on the road.

BUCK FREDRICK LEADS CALHOUN TO FINALS
Well, Buck did it again. Fredrick scored 29 points in the 1st half and finished with 38 points, 7 boards, 4 steals to lead a route of Woodmont 74-57. Buck actually outrebounded Clemson signee Sam Perry, who finished with 26 points, 6 boards and 4 blocks. Evidently Buck and Perry were VERY competitive against each other, even though they guarded different players. A couple of stare-downs and some choice words. Should make for interesting drama in years to come as they battle each other in the ACC. I like what Buck had to say about it - ""We were going at it all game," the younger Fredrick said. "He tried to catch it off the rim, I'm boxing out hard. He's trying to push me around like I'm little or something. He's taller than me, but I'm no little fellow. I'm going to stand in there and battle it out." To read some nice quotes from Buck, read the story here. Sounds like this kid is a real game-time competitor, particularly when the games get more critical.

RANDOLPH MORRIS NOT SO FORTUNATE
Randolph's Landmark team lost to Whitefield Ac. 95-74. Morris scored 41 points, had 18 boards (8 off), 7 blocks, but it wasn't enough. For a breakdown of the game from someone who was there, read this from the Hive from JezelbelJacket. Here is the official re-cap. Sounds like his team really got into a whole in the 3rd Q when he had to go to the lockerroom to get his elbow taped. So the natural question people will ask - if this is his last high school game, will he go ahead and announce? Don't hold your breath. Could happen but most still expect the answer in April. I continue to say that our competition is #1 NBA and #2 UK. The NBA has to be looking better and better for this young man.

WANT TO LOOK BACK FONDLY AT YOUR HOOPS MEMORIES
This thread over at the Hive discusses the most memorable hoops games in GT history. A nice nostalgic look back.
