Recruiting Update - Zam "Buck" Fredrick

Zam scores 29 points, 6-8 from the line, and 6 assists as his team wins.

Some comments from this article:

After Pickens converted two free throws, Fredrick played the role of point guard and dished out three consecutive assists to give Calhoun County its biggest lead of the game at 20 points.

"Buck's got a complete arsenal when it comes to offensive basketball," his father said. "He does a lot of things. Sometimes he gets a little too content with taking jumpshots, but when he gets ready to go to the basket, I think he's unstoppable going to the hole. His mid-range game is pretty strong too, but sometimes he gets a little too content with taking the jumpshots. But, as a young guy, you have those tendencies sometimes."

Fredrick opened the game by scoring seven of the game's first nine points. He started the game with a three-pointer, one of three he made in the game, then turned a steal into a layup and answered a basket by Pickens with a breakaway slam dunk.

After the dunk, Fredrick was whistled for a technical for what the official saw as him "taunting" an Edisto player by staring at him while heading up court. The infraction momentarily sparked the Cougars, who went on a 6-0 run to take their only lead of the contest at 8-7.
