Props to Marvin Lewis

While we all hate it when Marvin Lewis seems to disappear from games at time, he is to be commended for the way he represents Georgia Tech. I though Fox Sports South and Brad Dougharty did a nice job of complimenting Lewis on his accomplishments. They pointed out that he has a 3.8 GPA, wants to be a CPA and already has a job offer when he graduates with an accounting firm. They pointed out not only the 3.8 GPA and deans list EVERY quarter he has been at GT, but also that he is doing it as a leader on the team. This is not the 14th guy on the bench who runs in practice. This is a guy scoring points and counted on to help win.

I just wanted to commend Marvin Lewis for the outstanding way he represents all of us who have gone to GT and survived. We are proud of our school and love to see the recognition. Marvin is THE definition of a student athlete. CONGRATS!!!!

On a side note, I thought Brad D., while announcing the game did a nice job complimenting Georgia Tech. Talked about how culturally diverse the city is, how challenging the academics are, tradition, etc. Certainly doesn't hurt recruiting efforts and just nice to see in general.

He also mentioned the All-ACC team voting for the ESPN Silver Annerversary team. He said "Mark Price is going to be on any All-star team if I am chosing. Of course I played with him at Cleveland for 8 years and he made me look a lot better than I was during those year." Nice props.
