A Daily Dose

FOOTBALL
On the recruiting trail, talented defensive end Darrell Robertson has committed to FSU but it is not in the bank yet. Check it out. Also, here is the story of a couple of recruits who were all-everything and then the calls just stopped. One of them, Norris Smith, a running back, is actually getting interest from GT................. Also, Jimmy Robinson was hired as the Saints WR coach. Robinson was an assistant at GT from 1986-89.............. And in MORE coaching news, Ken Whisenhunt may become the Steelers offensive coordinator. Whisenhunt played is a former GT football player at Tight End................ Hey for all the H-Bowl bashing, the GT-Tulsa match-up set an H-Bowl viewer ratings record with a 2.09 rating on ESPN. The previous high was Clemson-LaTech in 2001.

BASKETBALL
Life on the road in the ACC continues to be tough, as Maryland took down UNC at home last night 90-84................. The debate rages on - who has the best hoops conference. This guy thinks the Big 12 is the answer................. This guy says the ACC, and he is right. It's funny that people that want to say the ACC is weak start naming the cupcakes we have played. But they never name the UConn's, Florida, Texas, Mich St, Texas Tech and all the other top tier teams that have lost to ACC teams.................. Kenny Anderson missed his 11th game in a row with a strained right calf...................... Meanwhile the AJC writes about weakness in the paint.
