What a turn of events the last two weeks have been for the Yellowjackets. My money is on a win tonight over UVA despite the big man in the middle giving us lots of trouble. Hewitt keeps talking about how this team is going to be alright, that we aren't playing up to our abilities...and I agree with that. At the same time, let's get it on guys and play the way we know you can...face it: a home loss dropping us to 0-2 wouldn't be demoralizing alone--but the fact that it would be a loss to UVA--who got beat by Providence earlier this year--makes it troubling. Is this game as big a game as our game vs. UNC was for them in Chapel Hill??? I think so.
How about this...6 days and three games. I figure that we'll take UVA, barely edge upstart Maryland (who just beat UNC in College Park), then get blown out by Danelius and company at Wake. What do you think???
Another comment: are we on the way to a nearly winless away year again in the ACC? So far, everyone looks REALLY strong at home, including Maryland as I said above. We have a major opportunity to prove our worth against Wake next week at their house. Another take on that: I'd take 8-8 right now even if we lose all the away games. 20+ wins = decent seed even if we do get dinged for being a poor road team.
