Quick--do you know what Tech's RPI is right now?

Anyone notice where GT is ranked as of January 4th on the RPI list??? Not number 8, but number 19. What does this mean for us? Probably nothing, but certainly it means that if we somehow fall apart and have a 7-9 or even 6-10 ACC campaign, we could fall off the bubble or get saddle with a low seed despite the early 12-win record to date. Our schedule strength is calculated as 99th best in the young season, and that will change, but it tells me that we're really pretty hyped right now to be ranked in the top 10. All you can do is go out and beat UNC this weekend and this won't matter in the least. Road wins are what we need...

What could be worse?!?!? Try on Virginia's shoes right now. They have an RPI of 32, schedule strength of 64 (remarkably), and just lost to Providence at home by 15 points after also getting spanked by NC State on the road. Talk about nowhere to go but down. Then again, when has Virginia NOT been in this position entering ACC play???...talk about scheduling cupcakes.

Go Jackets in the Dean Dome!!!
