This article insinuates that K.Barber is down to UK, Auburn and GT. Link here.
Barber's trip to UK this weekend will mark his third official visit after earlier touring Auburn and Georgia. The only other school Barber says he's considering is Georgia Tech.
Now, in another twist, it looks like Barber will not visit UK's midnight madness as originally planned - link here. UK "insiders" weeks ago thought Barber was a lock. Now they are wavering, as playing time is an issue.
"I doubt he's going," the player's father, John Barber, said yesterday. "He told me he probably wasn't going."
Barber, a 6-foot-7 forward, is also considering three colleges closer to his Manchester, Ga., hometown. Those three are Georgia, Georgia Tech and Auburn.
That relative proximity, plus a perceived greater chance to play at one of those three other schools, is thought to be the reason Barber has wavered on making the visit to UK.
Barber is the third forward prospect UK has targeted for its one available scholarship this recruiting year. Earlier, Tyler Hansbrough of Poplar Bluff, Mo., committed to North Carolina and Tasmin Mitchell of Denham Springs, La., committed to LSU.
The biggest issue for the Jackets is probably academics, as Barber has evidently not yet qualified. He recently re-took his test, but no word as to the results.
In other news, Kansas will host 8 top prospects during their midnight madness - link here.
