ACC re-alignment

One of the guys in our office (a GT alum) sent this out tonight. Hopefully it will be a positive sign of things to come. If we get a 12th league member, then Jacksonville (my adopted hometown) has a serious opportunity to get the league championship game, which would be played at Alltell Stadium (the former Gator Bowl). Supposedly, the president of the Gator Bowl is a college friend with the head of the ACC...this would get exciting, as the SEC championship in Atlanta generally seems to be a hot ticket every year.

*******************************************************

This was just released on Warchant. Thought you would like to know.

Division A

Maryland
Clemson
NC State
Wake Forest
Florida State
(12th member)

Division B

Miami
Virginia
Georgia Tech
Virginia Tech
Duke
North Carolina

You will play your entire division and rotate who you play in the opposite division. All I know is GT will not play FSU or Wake for the next two years but will play the other teams from Div A once during the next two years. FSU won't play GT or VT for the next 2 yrs. These divisions don't apply to sports outside of football. Also (RUMOR), the ACC extended an invitation to Boston College to be the 12th member.

Every team also has a primary partner in the opposite division that they play every year.

GT partner is Clemson
FSU partner is Miami
