From Coach Nix:
Those tuning in to see local products Correy Earls (Central) and Demaryius Thomas (West Laurens) playing for Georgia Tech might not see the freshmen.
Yellow Jackets' offensive coordinator Patrick Nix said it might be some time before the duo cracks the already-deep receivers corps.
"The good thing is that I don't think they'll have to make an impact this year," Nix said. "We're deep this year at receiver and I don't think they'll have to come in and be counted on there."
Nix said he thinks that both could play this season, but that might come on special teams.
"They'd have a shot with some injuries to play," Nix said. "But besides Calvin Johnson, most of our receivers have been redshirted. That gives them time to learn."
Nix said that Thomas will play wide receiver. Head coach Chan Gailey said on Signing Day that Thomas could play receiver or tight end.
