.....as candidates for new jobs. Certainly hope that Chan is able to see past the small group of short-sighted GT fans who have nothing better to do than bash the coaches.
Notice the comment:
"His time in Dallas and at Georgia Tech gives him the preferred thick skin"
Well, let's hope we don't start getting this reputation with all of our coaches.

If that's not enough, look at THIS from Sports Illustrated. Basically word is Hewitt is one of the top candidates for the St.John's job (assuming Jarvis is canned). Let's pray not.
from the article:
"According to the New York Post, St. John's is considering hiring Mark Jackson to replace Mike Jarvis. Assuming this is true -- and rule No. 1 in journalism is that if Lenn Robbins wrote it in the Post, you can assume it's true -- then you need to know nothing else to understand why the Red Storm program is in the dumps. Being a great player and a great coach are two different things. Just ask Houston, which made the disastrous decision five years ago to hire Clyde Drexler, and still hasn't recovered.
It's a shame that the Johnnies have fallen so far (their 1-4 start was the school's worst in more than 80 years) that we're already talking about Jarvis' successors, but that's the nature of the business. Besides Jackson, I believe the school's three other top choices are Georgia Tech's Paul Hewitt (far and away the favorite, but he'd be a fool to take the job), Manhattan's Bobby Gonzalez and George Washington's Karl Hobbs. "
MEMO TO GAILEY AND HEWITT:
Please stay!!! We see where you are taking our respective programs. We see the potential. We are excited. We see the future and want you in it.
