Recruiting Update - Anthony Morrow

Funny, I have built this image of Morrow as similar to Marvin Lewis. A wing shooter who can light things up from beyond the arc - which he CAN do. But looks like he has a little more flash than we might think. At the Dell Curry Invitational he was recently named to the all-tourney team. On day one he drops 31 points, 8 boards and goes 15-17 from the charity stripe (including 8-8 in the last 2 minutes). He scores 20 points, 7 boards and 3 assists on day two (even though his team loses). On day 3 his team wins and Morrow scores 29 points.

And guess what else - He wins the tourney slam dunk contest. The coup-de-gras was a 360-degree one handed dunk off a bounce pass. WOW! We're reading about Dr.Dunk Jeremis Smith, the man underneath Ra'Sean Dickey and even Zam Fredrick's ability to take it to the hole. Now this from a "shooter". I guess that's what you get when you judge someone by what OTHER people have said, instead of seeing things first hand. To top all this off, he is an excellent student and word is he could have gotten into GT on his academics alone. And I have read that he is a "team" guy, always wanting to do what he can to help the team win. Seems to be a very coachable guy. Can't wait.

You know, we could have some serious dunk contests with J.Smith, Morrow, Dickey and Isma'il next year. I bet little Will Bynum can throw down as well when given the chance. Interesting. Very interesting.
